Cellular radiation regularly comes under the spotlight because it is a topic that continues to baffle and mystify scientists. They are yet to determine the real facts about the effects of cellular
radiation. While many believe radiation exposure from cellular use is harmful and dangerous,
this has yet to be adequately proven within scientific circles.

What you should know about cellular radiation
Cell phone use continues to grow exponentially as it can unify a lot of functions within a single
handheld device. There are different types of radiation, and not all of them are harmless. The
kind of radiation from a cell phone is primarily in the form of non-ionizing Electromagnetic
Field Radiation or EMF, which is made up of radio-frequency radiation and extremely low-
frequency radiation. EMF radiation is generally too low to really be of danger to someone.
However, prolonged exposure is likely to have some harmful effects. The way cell phones are
used can also add to the risk. For instance, a quick phone call produces very minute levels of
radiation, but this level increases with longer call durations and can get absorbed into the body.
Since we tend to have our device on us most of the time, that also raises the risk of prolonged
exposure.
The effects of radiation may not be immediately visible in the form of physical health issues.
Apart from the radiation itself, continuous exposure to the light emitted from mobile screens can
be harmful, too.
The simplest way to reduce cellular radiation is to use the device prudently and by keeping it
away from physical contact with your body as much as possible. While it may not be possible to
completely avoid EMF radiation, one can at least limit the level of exposure.
